Prime Minister Dahal secures vote of confidence in parliament



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), emerged victorious in a crucial vote of confidence on Wednesday.

PM Dahal, in accordance with Rule 155 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS, and Article 100, Sub-Article (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, presented a proposal seeking the vote of confidence during the House of Representatives session.

During the session, PM Dahal tabled the proposal, urging the House to express its confidence in him as the Prime Minister.

In response, he garnered 157 votes in favor, receiving support from parties such as CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), among others.

The 157 votes secured by PM Dahal constitute a majority, ensuring the success of the vote of confidence.

Additionally, 110 lawmakers chose not to support PM Dahal, while one lawmaker opted to remain neutral.
