KATHMANDU: Chairman of Janamat Party, CK Raut, has pushed for a transformative change in the political landscape by emphasizing for a directly-elected Prime Minister by the people.

In an address to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal faced criticism from CK Raut for what he perceived as a repeated insult to the people’s vote.

Raut emphasized the need to move away from the traditional method of gaining confidence through parliamentary votes, asserting, “Repeatedly taking the vote of confidence has insulted the dignified Parliament.”

Proposing a significant shift in the political process, Raut urged, “Now let’s arrange for the people to elect the Prime Minister.”

He expressed his discontent with the current state of affairs, affirming that he would not support the government until such a democratic reform is implemented.
