KATHMANDU: Narayan Dahal, representing the CPN (Maoist Center) and endorsed by the ruling alliance, has secured victory as the Chairman of the National Assembly.
Dahal clinched 39 votes, comfortably surpassing the required majority threshold. Notably, a minimum of 29 votes was necessary to secure the Chairmanship.
Meanwhile, Dahal’s contender Yuvraj Sharma from Nepali Congress got 17 votes.
Dahal received support from CPN-UML, Janata Samajwadi Party, and the Unified Socialist Party, leading to his successful election.
