PM Dahal meeting with UML Chair Oli to discuss vote of confidence



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to hold discussions with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli this morning regarding the vote of confidence scheduled for March 13.

As it stands, PM Dahal, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, holds the support of 152 lawmakers, comprising 77 from the CPN-UML, 32 from the Maoist Center, 21 from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), 12 from Janata Samajwadi Party, and 10 from Unified Socialist Party.

The opposition has 117 votes, with Nepali Congress contributing 88 votes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 14, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party with 4, Nagarik Unmukti Party with 3, Janamat with 6, and other fringe parties securing 2 votes.

The allegiance of the five independent candidates remains uncertain.
