SAFF U-16 Championship: Bangladesh marches unbeaten in League stage



KATHMANDU: In the ongoing SAFF U-16 Championship in Nepal, Bangladesh remains unbeaten in the league stage.

In the final league match held at the ANFA Complex turf field on Friday, Bangladesh defeated Bhutan 6-0.

In Bangladesh’s victory, Shaurabhi Akanda Priti scored two goals, while Fatima Akhtar, Kranti Marma, Sathi Munda, and Thuinu Marmala each contributed with one goal.

Previously securing a spot in the final, Bangladesh had maintained the top position in the round-robin competition.

In their first match, Bangladesh defeated the host team Nepal 2-0, and in the second match, they triumphed over India with a score of 3-1.

Having won all three matches in the league stage, Bangladesh secured the top position with 9 points.
India, with two wins and one loss, collected 6 points and stands in the second position.

The final match between Bangladesh and India, the top two teams from the league stage, is scheduled for this Sunday.
