Indian tourist dies of altitude sickness



MYAGDI: An Indian tourist died of altitude sickness in Mustang on Monday.

Bhupendra Bhai Patel, 57, of Gujarat, India succumbed to altitude sickness at Ranipauwa of Baragung Muktichhetra rural municipality-1, according to Deputy Superintendent at Mustang Police Bhoj Raj Pandey.

Patel had suffered from altitude sickness while he was on the way to Muktinath. The police took him to Jomsom Hospital for treatment.

Doctors pronounced Patel death at the hospital in the meantime.Patel along with friends and relatives had come to visit Muktinath.

A team led by Police Inspector Milan BK had rescued Patel and brought him to hospital.

Meanwhile, area surrounding to Muktinath has been witnessing snowfall from Saturday.

Normal life has been affected due to chilling cold following snowfall.
