‘Crucial’ meeting of ruling coalition taking place today

KATHMANDU: A “crucial” meeting of the ruling coalition is taking place today morning.

The meeting to be held after 8 am is anticipated to carry substantial implications.

Against the backdrop of heightened political activity leading up to the National Assembly Speaker election, speculation abounds regarding potential shifts in the power dynamics.

In recent times, the ruling coalition has experienced a degree of uncertainty.

With the National Assembly Speaker election scheduled for March 12, both the Nepali Congress and the Maoist Center find themselves at an impasse over the appointment of the National Assembly Chairman.

In response to these political developments, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba engaged in discussions with all ministers representing the party.

Following these deliberations, Deuba has called for a parliamentary party meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. today itself.

The agenda of this meeting is rumored to include discussions on the Transitional Justice bill.

Adding to the day’s agenda, the swearing-in ceremony for the victorious members of the National Assembly is also slated to occur today itself.
