Fatal Katari jeep accident claims two lives



KATARI: Tragedy struck in Katari as the death toll from a jeep accident climbed to two. Lal Kumari Tamang, 30, succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a Biratnagar-based Nursing Home, bringing the total fatalities to two.

The accident occurred when a jeep (Na 1 Ja 8333), en route to Thaliya from Katari-8, veered off the road and plunged approximately 100 meters down at Katari-7 on Friday evening.

Bir Bahadur Tamang, 70, from Katari municipality-8, lost his life on the spot in the tragic incident.

Subas Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police at Area Police Office, Katari, confirmed the details of the accident.

The driver of the jeep, Tharma Singh Tamang, 33, from Katari-8, has been taken into custody.

Additionally, a total of 13 individuals sustained injuries in the accident, with eight of them currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals in Biratnagar.
