National Conference on Women with Disabilities commences in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The National Conference on Women with Disabilities, themed “Count Me In: My Voice Matters,” has commenced in Kathmandu.

The conference, organized by various organizations working in the field of women and disability, issued a press release, announcing the initiation of the event that is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

Representatives from seven provinces, totaling 36 women with disabilities and those engaged in the sector of women and disability at the national level, are actively participating in the program.

The conference, organized in coordination with various international organizations, including Dalit Women’s Network, National Indigenous Disabled Women’s Association, Blind Women’s Association Nepal, Access Planet Nepal, and Pahichan Nepal, addresses the issues concerning women with disabilities.

The inauguration of the conference was presided over by Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, who expressed her concerns for women with disabilities and pledged to extend policy-level support from her end.

International Women’s Day will be celebrated on March 8, 2024.
