KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has revealed the details of the annual player contracts for both the men’s and women’s national cricket teams, shedding light on the structure of central contracts and the corresponding salaries.
A total of 49 players have been identified for central contracts, comprising 30 men and 19 women cricketers.
These contracts are divided into various grades, each offering different salary levels.
For the men’s national team, Grade ‘A’ players, including Rohit Poudel, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aasif Sheikh, and Kushal Bhurtel, are entitled to a monthly salary of Rs 100,000. Meanwhile, women’s team members in the same grade receive Rs 50,000 per month.
Moving down the ranks, Grade ‘B’ men’s team members receive a salary of Rs 70,000 monthly, while Grade ‘C’ players earn Rs 55,000. Players in Grade ‘D’ are allocated Rs 35,000 per month, and those in the emerging category receive Rs 25,000.
Similarly, for the women’s team, Grade ‘B’ players are paid Rs 35,000 monthly, Grade ‘C’ players earn Rs 30,000, Grade ‘D’ players receive Rs 25,000, and emerging talents are allotted Rs 20,000 per month.
