Preparations underway for EPG report reception: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has confirmed that preparations are in progress to receive the report from the Eminent Persons Group (EPG) on Nepal-India relations.

During a meeting of the National Concern and Coordination Committee under the National Assembly today, the Prime Minister stated that internal preparations have been initiated to coordinate the simultaneous receipt of the report from both countries.

Lawmakers expressed their concerns about the EPG report, especially in light of India’s hesitation to receive it.

In response to these concerns, the Prime Minister indicated that if conditions did not permit the simultaneous receipt of the EPG report from both sides, a decision might be made on Nepal’s part.

The EPG was established by the governments of both countries to review and assess past agreements between Nepal and India.
