Nepal experiencing partial effects of westerly low-pressure system

KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing a partial effect from the westerly low-pressure system.

The Weather Forecasting Division has indicated a varying influence across the country.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain predominantly clear in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Scattered to light rain is likely in Gandaki, Karnali, and select hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province.

Additionally, some places in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, particularly in high hills and Himalayan areas, may experience light snowfall.

There is also a chance of snowfall in a couple of locations in the remaining high hills and Himalayan regions.

As night falls, the weather is expected to become partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas, with partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions prevailing throughout the rest of the country.

Gandaki, Karnali, and a few hilly areas in Sudurpaschim Province could encounter scattered to light rain, with the possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the country.
