Patan High Court orders suspension of Bhatbhateni structures removal from Lalita Niwas government land

KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has intervened, issuing an order to halt the immediate removal of structures belonging to Bhatbhateni Developers Pvt. Ltd from government-owned land at Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.

Judge Munendra Prasad Awasti, presiding over the bench, passed the directive, providing temporary relief to Min Bahadur Gurung and his relative Sarla Ghale Gurung.

Previously, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had issued a notice instructing the evacuation of government-owned lands at Lalit Niwas following a ruling by the Special Court.

However, the complete verdict in the Lalita Niwas land scam case is yet to be disclosed by the Special Court.

In response to the metropolitan’s notice, a writ petition was filed seeking to restrain the local authority from taking any further actions.

The court’s intervention marks a temporary reprieve in the ongoing legal saga surrounding Lalita Niwas, highlighting the complexities and legal intricacies involved in the dispute.

Special Court declares 12, including Shobhakant Dhakal and Ramkumar Subedi, guilty in Baluwatar land scam
