UAE issues travel advisory for Nepal

KATHMANDU: The UAE Embassy in Nepal has issued an advisory to its citizens residing or visiting the country to be cautious due to the torrential rains and landslides.

The embassy in its official Twitter account said, “The UAE Embassy in Nepal advises UAE nationals to take precautions and follow the safety instructions issued by the authorities. In the event of an emergency, contact the consulate on 00977-4217776.”

In Nepal, torrential rains and landslides have claimed the lives of more than 100 people and another 29 missing in the past two weeks, officials said as the annual monsoon took its toll on the rain-fed region.

“Rains have been predicted this week and we are on alert, but we don’t expect it to have a severe impact,” home ministry informed.
