Ambulance driver arrested for smuggling marijuana

DHANKUTA: Police have arrested a man on allegation of smuggling marijuana in an ambulance.

Ambulance driver Jayadev Chel, 48, an inhabitant of Biratnagar 12 was nabbed after recovering marijuana in the ambulance he had been driving.

The arrest took place while the Me 1 Cha 2032 ambulance was en route from Dhankuta to Dharan.

During a routine check, 52 kilograms of marijuana was seized from the ambulance.

Based on information indicating the transportation of marijuana through the ambulance, the police had been monitoring the situation.

Further investigation is underway after the arrest and detention of Chel by the Dhankuta Police.
