Religious and cultural diversity upholds unity in Nepal: Health Minister Basnet



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, emphasized the crucial role played by various religions and cultures in preserving the unity of the Nepali people.

Addressing the 2860th Duk Sonam Lhosar program organized by Bahrabise municipality and other organizations in Bahrabise-3, Khorasnibari on Saturday, Minister Basnet remarked, “Diverse religions and cultures have integrated us in a mutual way.”

He pledged to allocate a necessary budget for the development of the district as the representative of its constituency, expressing his commitment to incorporating essential plans into the upcoming fiscal year budget for the development of all wards in the district.

Minister Basnet also shared that, since assuming the ministerial post, he has allocated 10 percent of general beds at private, government, and community hospitals free of cost for the poor and disadvantaged.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Kumar Tamang, a member of the Bagmati province assembly, expressed the belief that such programs contribute to fostering goodwill and fraternity in society.

Similarly, Harisharan Shrestha, Assistant General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Bagmati province, emphasized the importance of ensuring proper representation of the Tamang and Sherpa communities at higher levels of the state.
