Nirmala murder case: Govt failed disgracefully, says NC

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has accused that the government disgracefully failed on Nirmala rape and murder case.

Speaking a press meet organized on Thursday as it has been almost a year since Nirmala Panta, 13, of Kanchanpur district was raped and murdered, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma claimed that murderer(s) are still roaming freely due to activities and remarks by Prime Minister and his Cabinet ministers.

Sharma added that the government suppressed protests held demanding justice to Nirmala.

He vented his ire over Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa’s remarks that ‘such cases have been happening in the past, happening right now and will also happen in the future’.
