In the latest performance-based evaluation conducted by the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission (NNRFC) for the fiscal year 2079/2080 BS, Bharatpur emerged victorious with an impressive score of 56.29 points, marking the highest achievement among all metropolises in the country.

This stellar performance also places Bharatpur at the forefront among the seven local levels within the district.

In contrast, Kathmandu secured 39.02 points, Birgunj attained 33.49 points, Biratnagar recorded 32.85 points, Lalitpur garnered 25.18 points, and Pokhara accumulated 20.74 points among the remaining six metropolises.

It’s noteworthy that Bharatpur had also claimed the title of the best-performing metropolis in the previous year.

The evaluation criteria encompassed various facets of governance and development, including the timely announcement and ratification of annual budgets and programs, consistent submission of revenue shares to provincial governments on a monthly basis, submission of mid-term budget reviews to the federal Ministry of Finance, revenue collection, strategic planning for local development, school enrollment, pass-out rates, immunization coverage, and other key performance indicators.

Bharatpur’s consistent excellence underscores its commitment to effective governance, sustainable development, and service delivery to its residents.

As it continues to set benchmarks for municipal performance, Bharatpur serves as a shining example for other local governments nationwide.
