RPP protests for Hindu state and constitutional monarchy in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) staged a demonstration in Kathmandu, advocating for the establishment of a Hindu state and the reinstatement of a constitutional monarchy in Nepal.

On Wednesday afternoon, before submitting a 40-point memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ the royalist party protested against the current federal, secular republic at Bhrikutimandap.

RPP voiced its support for a Hindu state, the removal of the federal structure, the establishment of a robust central authority, and the empowerment of local bodies.

The rally commenced from Bhadrakali, progressed through Sundhara and Ratna Park, concluding with a gathering at Bhrikuti Mandap.

The event witnessed the participation of RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden, along with senior leaders such as Pashupati Shumsher Rana and Prakash Chandra Lohani.

Today, RPP plans to present the 40-point demand to the Prime Minister in Kathmandu and Chief District Officers in all other districts.
