Selection Committee recommends three candidates for Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor



KATHMANDU: Three individuals have been recommended for the position of Vice-Chancellor at Tribhuvan University (TU) in Kathmandu.

The Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee, led by Education Minister Ashok Rai, has put forth three names from a pool of 14 shortlisted candidates.

The recommended candidates for the Vice-Chancellor role are Keshar Jung Baral, Tanka Nath Dhamala, and Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki.

The selection process began with the release of a shortlist containing 14 candidates.

Initially, 43 individuals were nominated for the esteemed post of Vice-Chancellor at the university.

Following the conclusion of Dr. Dharmakant Baskota’s term as the Vice Chancellor of TU, Prime Minister and TU Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formed a committee.

This committee, chaired by Education, Science, and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai, included Secretary Suresh Adhikari and Dr. Chandrakala Ghimire, the Head of the Department of Buddhist Studies.
