KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) and Chairman of Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has expressed his disappointment, stating that he felt betrayed by the Nepali Congress, the major power partner in the ruling coalition.
Speaking at the party’s Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Monday, he highlighted the election results of Koshi Province claiming that the Nepali Congress had deceived them.
PM Dahal said it is high time that his party reviewed and reevaluated the coalition dynamics.
Despite both the Nepali Congress and Maoist Center being coalition partners in the government, ongoing conflicts have persisted between the two parties.
The National Assembly elections have become a focal point of contention, deepening the divide between the Maoists and the Congress, particularly with allegations of betrayal in Koshi province.
In the aftermath, voices within the Maoists are advocating for the Chairman of the National Assembly to be chosen from their ranks rather than conceding to the Congress.
