KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that there will be no public holiday on Falgun 1 (February 13).
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry clarified that the government has made amendments to the previously announced public holidays for the current year, and the public holiday scheduled for Falgun 1 has been removed from the list.
Earlier, there were speculations about the possibility of a public holiday on the anniversary of the CPN-Maoist-led public rebellion, Falgun 1, as the government had decided last year to observe the day as Martyr’s Day.
However, as the Supreme Court overturned the government decision regarding the celebration on Falgun 1, the government has now decided to revoke its own decision.
