Gopi Krishna Hall, Chabahil announces closure



KATHMANDU: Gopi Krishna Hall in Chabahil, the capital, is set to close for good soon.

The decision to shut down the renowned C‌inema Hall has been attributed to the economic crisis, as revealed by the operation director.

“Due to the significant economic losses and the prevailing downturn in the film industry since the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company finds it impossible to continue operate any longer, so we are going to close the Gopi Krishna Cinema Hall,” Nirak Paudel, Managing Director of the Gopi Krishna Movies Pvt. Ltd announced.

The venue, operational since 2052 BS, will cease operations from the first day of Falgun, 13 February.
