NEPSE surges by double digits on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a substantial double-digit surge, marking the second trading day of the week.

The Nepali stock market surged by 14.57 points, reaching 2076.27 points today.

The total trading volume in the stock market on Monday amounted to Rs 2.43 billion. 7,491,300 shares from 310 companies were traded 56,776 times during the day.

In terms of group performance, the Hotel and Tourism sector witnessed a negative change of 0.20 percent, the Production and Processing group showed a decline of 0.09 percent, Mutual Funds recorded a 0.06 percent decrease, and the Life Insurance group experienced a 0.41 percent decline. In contrast, other groups showed an increase in their sub-indices by 4.68 percent.

Nepal Telecom Limited and People’s Power Limited observed a positive circuit in their share prices. However, Swabhiman Microfinance faced a notable drop of 6.78 percent.

Based on business volume, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited led with a turnover of NPR 185.95 million.
