KATHMANDU: The Dhading District Convention of the main opposition CPN-UML party has been postponed owing to the the clash between the party cadres.
The convention, which started last Friday, faced disputes and clashes among the cadres during the closed session of the party yesterday, leading to the suspension of the convention.
Bagmati province committee chairman Kailash Dhungel issued a statement and informed about the suspension of the convention until further notice.
According to UML sources, the conflict arose after district committee chairman Bhumi Tripathi tried to impose names without letting the floor discuss and decide.
Earlier, UML Chairman KP Oli had inaugurated the opening ceremony of the convention on Friday.
