KATHMANDU: India, Australia and South Africa have advanced to the semi-finals of the IC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.

India Clinches Dominant Victory Against Nepal, Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas Shine

In a spectacular display of skill and resilience, India secured a spot in the U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 semi-finals by defeating Nepal by 132 runs.

Skipper Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas orchestrated a remarkable recovery, forming a record-breaking 215-run partnership, the highest for India in the U19 World Cup.

Both batsmen notched up centuries, propelling India to a commanding total of 297/5.

Despite Nepal’s watchful start, India, led by vice-captain Saumy Pandey and bowlers Raj Limbani, Arshin Kulkarni, and Murugan Abhishek, successfully defended their score, cementing their place in the semi-finals.

Sachin Dhas was honored as the Player of the Match for his outstanding innings of 116.

Australia Advances to Semi-Finals as Group 2 Toppers Despite Abandoned Match

Australia secured their spot in the U19 Cricket World Cup semi-finals, topping Group 2, despite the match against West Indies in Kimberley being abandoned.

West Indies’ decision to field first paid off early on, with Australia losing key wickets.

However, Sam Konstas’s brilliant century, along with Raf MacMillan’s contribution, helped Australia reach a competitive total of 227.

Charlie Anderson’s impactful bowling performance added to the excitement, but unfortunately, the match was abandoned due to lightning and rain.

Nevertheless, Australia’s strong performance throughout the group stage earned them a spot in the semi-finals.

South Africa Dominates Sri Lanka, Secures Semi-Final Berth

South Africa displayed a commanding performance against Sri Lanka, securing a convincing 119-run victory to advance to the U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 semi-finals.

Openers set the tone for South Africa with an aggressive start, but disciplined fielding from Sri Lanka briefly turned the tables.

Lhuan dre-Pretorius’s departure for 71 triggered a temporary setback, but tailenders helped South Africa post a challenging total of 232/8.

Kwena Maphaka’s devastating bowling performance, claiming five wickets, and Riley Norton’s contributions ensured a swift end to Sri Lanka’s innings, with Maphaka ultimately finishing with a six-wicket haul.

South Africa’s comprehensive win solidified their place in the semi-finals.

These results set the stage for exciting U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 semi-finals as India, South Africa, and Australia showcase their talent and determination in pursuit of the prestigious title.
