JYC organizing Jhamsikhel Street Festival



LALITPUR: Jhamsikhel Youth Club (JYC) is organizing the “5th Jhamsikhel Street Festival” on Saturday to continue its tradition of organizing festivals and to maintain the vibrancy of Jhamsikhel’s tourism sector.

According to the Chairperson of Jhamsikhel Youth Club, Sandan Thapa Magar, the festival is a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote tourism.

JYC Spokesperson, Kaushal Ghimire, said it would be the fifth time that the club was organizing the street festival.

“We have been organizing the street festival once every four years. We did it in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019, and now we are organizing it again,” Ghimire said.

According to the organizers, the street festival will have many attractions including a Rock concert featuring Mukti and Revival, Anuprastha, Cobweb, and the new addition, Brothers N Band.

“The festival will also feature Lok Dohori singers including Komal Oli. There will also be standup comedy performances by artists like Raja Rajendra, Purna Thapa, and Ravi Dangol,” Ghimire said.

The organizers said that the streets of Jhamsikhel will have food, handicraft, and face painting stalls along with bingo and carnival games for the children.
