KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University (TU) has ushered in a transformation by introducing online examination-related services starting today.
Students can now apply for exam certificates from the comfort of their homes.
In a landmark move, Tribhuvan University, in its 74th year since establishment, has embraced online services for the first time.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Shivalal Bhusal inaugurated the service by initiating the process through the computer system at the examination control office in Balkhu.
Following the launch, he expressed confidence that the university’s endeavor to transition all examination tasks online has officially commenced and will be a success.
Previously, obtaining certificates required a visit to the Balkhu office for application.
With the introduction of online services, students can now apply from home for tasks such as transcripts, provisional certificates, original certificates, as well as certificate renewals and corrections.
Upon submitting an application within the 24-hour system, students will receive timely information about the acceptance or rejection of their applications during office hours.
In case of rejection, students will be prompted to reapply, addressing any errors or incomplete details.
If all the provided application details are verified and accepted, the certificate will be processed within one week.
For students in the Valley, the collection of the prepared certificate necessitates a visit to the Office of the Examination Controller’s Office in Balkhu.
Students outside the Valley are required to visit the relevant regional education directorate to obtain their certificates.
Pushparaj Joshi, the Controller of Examinations at Tribhuvan University, stated that the introduction of online services aims to streamline TU’s academic calendar, eliminating the need to visit Balkhu for any exam-related tasks.
Additionally, Joshi revealed ongoing preparations to transition all tasks, including certificate distribution, to an online platform.
This marks a groundbreaking shift towards a more efficient and accessible examination system.
He also stated that the office will implement both online and self-application systems within approximately a month.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the office is currently facing a shortage of skilled manpower to effectively manage online services.
Joshi, the exam controller, clarified that the online service currently only covers certificates issued after the year 2054 BS. He explained that certificates predating this year are not stored in the computer records.
Consequently, individuals who took exams prior to 2054 BS need to visit the Balkhu office for certificate-related services.
