KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Engineer Pradeep Bhattarai and service recipient Sumitra Sapkota on charges of bribery.
The CIAA registered the case in the Special Court on Sunday.
According to CIAA spokesperson Narahari Ghimire, Bhattarai allegedly received a bribe of 34,000 rupees from Sapkota in connection with the facilitation of national identity card processing at the Department of National ID and Civil Registration.
The accused are expected to face legal proceedings in the Special Court as the case progresses.
