RUPANDEHI: President of the parliamentary Public Account Committee (PAC) Bharat Shah has stressed on the need of bringing the responsibility of maintaining peace and security in the provinces under the purview of the state government.

Speaking at a program in Rupandehi, Shah said that the center should ensure that the responsibility be given to the state governments and not try to practice monopoly over issues which has been provisioned in the constitution.

He said that the federal government should freely allocate powers to the state governments. Stating that there are problems in the allocation of powers, Shah said that the right to natural resources, which lies within the center, has increased the level of dissatisfaction in the provinces and local levels.
