BIRGUNJ: Former King Gyanendra Shah has voiced his concerns and confusion regarding the Royal Palace massacre, indicating that it has led to misconceptions about him and his family.
Speaking at a program organized in Birgunj on Saturday, the former King commented on the tragic incident that occurred on June 1, 2001, stating that it resulted in his self-isolation and planted negative sentiments in the minds of the Nepali people.
He also mentioned that his family had faced a fatal attack.
“The catastrophic incident on June 1, 2001, not only left us physically affected but also created a cloud of misconceptions and negative emotions in the minds of the Nepali people. Our family was also subjected to a fatal attack,” former King Shah said.
Asserting that the truth remains constant, he remarked that unfortunate circumstances arise from ignorance and deceit rather than purely unjust circumstances.
