JHAPA: Gagan Kumar Thapa, the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, emphasized the importance of dialogue and discussion as essential tools to address people’s despair and tackle their problems.

The Nepali Congress has launched a dialogue campaign to engage with the public and uplift society, connecting the party more closely with the community, Thapa declared.

Speaking at a program organized as part of the dialogue campaign in Mechipul, Jhapa, Thapa asserted that the campaign aims to alleviate disappointment within Nepali society.

He stated that the party would listen to complaints during the visit and emphasized the responsibility of the Nepali Congress to free people from misery, condemning the capitalization of people’s despair.

Prior to addressing the program, Thapa paid tribute to the statue of martyr Ram Thapa at Mechi Campus and gathered information about the challenges faced by campus teachers and students.

Bishwo Prakash Sharma, another General Secretary of the party, highlighted that the campaign would help identify personal and party mistakes and address the plight of the people.

He emphasized the current need for changes within the party to strengthen it.

The event was attended by former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula, central member Pradip Paudel, and other central and district leaders.

The Nepali Congress central committee has decided to launch the ‘NC in community’ drive from January 26 to February 9.

Thapa is scheduled to engage in discussions with party cadres and locals in Jhapa Chowk, Kanchanshree, and Jhapa Bazaar on the same day.

He will gradually visit various districts, including Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Nawalpur, Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, and Kanchanpur, as part of the campaign.
