UML’s Rukmani Koirala emerges victorious in Koshi

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s Rukmani Koirala secured a victory in the women’s seat from Koshi Province in the National Assembly elections, garnering an impressive 5,086 vote weightage.

Despite facing a formidable challenge from the ruling coalition’s candidate Champadevi Karki, who received 4,922 votes, Koirala’s triumph underscores the shift in dynamics after the alliance’s breakdown.

While the coalition initially held a strong vote share in the region, Koirala’s resilience and widespread support propelled her to victory after the alliance disintegrated.

The election results reflect the changing political landscape, with UML’s Koirala emerging as the triumphant force in Koshi, defeating the Maoists.
