Former headmaster sentenced to three years in corruption case



KATHMANDU: The Special Court has handed down a three-year prison sentence to Shiv Kumar Sah, the former headmaster at Nepane Secondary School, Gorkha.

Sah, who had been detained on four separate corruption charges in a single day, was determined guilty by the Special Court on Sunday.

The Chairman of the Special Court, Teknarayan Kunwar, along with members Rambahadur Thapa and Muraribabu Shrestha, has decided to impose a fine of Rs. 1,332,000 on him, as informed by the spokesperson of the Special Court, Dhan Bahadur Karki.

He has been found guilty of misusing funds meant for the construction of the Trust Building.

Sah had allegedly falsified reports and bills, misusing funds earmarked for the laboratory, purchase of educational materials, and other expenses related to the school.

In addition, he faced charges of embezzling money allocated for scholarships, uniforms, bags, and even the construction of restroom facilities for students.

The former headmaster had also been accused of fabricating decisions of the School Management Committee.
