NEPSE experiences correction, closes at 2163.06 points on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) underwent a correction after a recent surge of 86 points over the last two trading days, leading active investors to book profits.

NEPSE, which reached 2215 points at 12:57 pm, closed at 2163.06 points, marking a decline of 0.55 percent compared to Tuesday’s points. This reflects a decrease of 12.10 points on the day.

The market recorded a share transaction worth NPR 9.76 billion, surpassing Tuesday’s NPR 8.2 billion.

Wednesday’s market turnover is the highest in the last two years and five months.

On this day, share prices of 63 companies increased, while 180 companies witnessed a decline in their share prices. Additionally, the share prices of four companies remained unchanged.

Moreover, three companies, namely Global IME Microfinance, Nepal Wear Housing, and Himalayan Reinsurance, experienced circuit-level increases. The first two achieved a circuit-level growth of 10 percent, while Himalayan Reinsurance increased by 9.99 percent.

Easter Hydropower and Bhugol Energy witnessed a circuit-level decline of 10 percent on this day.
