KATHMANDU: With growing dissatisfaction about the government’s performance, the CPN-Unified Socialist has threatened to quit the government.
The Unified Socialist Party’s Secretariat meeting held on Monday voiced its growing dissatisfaction with the coalition government under CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’
According to sources, the majority of the leaders present in the meeting yesterday showed their discontent with the government’s performance and mounted pressure on the leadership to consider quitting the cabinet.
Senior leader of the party, Jhalanath Khanal, who enjoys high regard within the party, had indicated that the party could consider stepping outside the government. Today, leader Khanal stated that his party could withdraw from the government if dissatisfaction within the coalition persists.
Similarly, Dr. CK Raut-led Janamat Party has also expressed intentions to step out of the government. In a conversation with Khabarhub, Chairman Raut indicated a potential exit.
