People of these households are facing problem charging their mobile phones and operating other electrical appliances, let alone running industries.

Similarly, one thousand out of total 2,546 households in the Chhayanath Rara Municipality, the only municipality in the district, do not have electricity.

Likewise, all 3,651 households in Khatyad rural municipality are without power and are dependent on the erratic solar lamp and the traditional ‘diyalo’.

The construction of Birabagar Hydroelectricity Project, initiated with the goal of generating power to supply to all houses in the rural municipality, is in limbo for the last five years.

Likewise, the locals of 55 settlements from ward number 1 to 11 of Soru rural municipality do not have power supply to their home. A 60 kilowatts capacity solar power plant has been set up at Sorukot, the rural municipality headquarters, but this is not adequate for the rural municipality to deliver services.

Although the national transmission line has been extended to Gamgadhi, the district headquarters, on September 11, 2023, locals complained that the power supply through this is unreliable.
