National Assembly elections: Ruling coalition appeals for support in favor of candidates fielded by coalition

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has appealed for support in favor of the common candidate of the coalition for the upcoming National Assembly elections.

In a meeting convened this morning at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the coalition, consisting of various political parties, urged unity among its members to ensure success for the 19 common candidates fielded by the alliance in the National Assembly elections scheduled for January 25.

The meeting emphasized the need for a more organized and fortified alliance to secure victory.

The coalition’s appeal further encouraged voters aligned with the coalition parties to steadfastly support the common candidates, emphasizing that the success of these candidates would contribute to political stability in the nation.

“The National Assembly elections are of great significance, and the candidate nominated by the alliance represents a shared vision,” the meeting decided.

“We must remain vigilant against activities that may weaken our alliance during the electoral process. This election provides an opportunity to enhance political stability, further strengthening the ruling coalition,” it added.

The alliance also reaffirmed its commitment to bolstering the democratic republican system, sustaining peace, promoting good governance, and fostering prosperity.

The coalition leaders pledged unwavering dedication to these principles.

Notably, the coalition is fielding a total of 19 candidates for the National Assembly elections, comprising 10 from the Nepali Congress, 6 from the Maoist Center, 2 from the Unified Socialist Party, and 1 from Janata Samajwadi Party, showcasing a collective effort to secure victory and promote the coalition’s shared goals on January 25.
