NEA restores power supply to 23 industries after govt’s directive

KATHMANDU: In a recent development, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to reinstate power supply to 23 industries that had been disconnected earlier due to pending dues related to dedicated feeders and trunk lines.

The decision to restore electricity supply was taken during a meeting held on Friday, where the government directed to restore power supply to these industries.

The government has established a high-level commission to expeditiously address disputes related to dedicated power feeders and trunk lines allocated to industries.

Emphasizing continuity, the NEA asserts that power supply to these industries will remain uninterrupted until the commission completes its investigation and the government makes decisions based on its findings.

According to NEA reports, there are still 61 industries with unsettled dues, and among them, 23 had their power connections severed in recent weeks due to non-payment.
