Celebrating Prithvi Jayanti as National Unity Day is commendable: UML Chair Oli



KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli has lauded the National Unity Day event organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on the 302nd birth anniversary of the ‘nation-builder’ Prithvi Narayan Shah.

Attending the program held by the RPP in Kathmandu on Friday to mark the occasion, Oli expressed appreciation for celebrating Prithvi Jayanti as National Unity Day.

Oli acknowledged the RPP’s initiative, stating, “It is good that the RPP has organized a program on Prithvi Jayanti as National Unity Day. I extend my gratitude to them for this commendable effort.”

He further emphasized the importance of Prithvi Narayan Shah’s leadership in the geographic unification of Nepal.

Leaders, including Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, along with Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, were present at the RPP’s tea reception program.
