Four arrested in connection with gold theft in Lalitpur



KATHMANDU: Four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the theft of gold in Lalitpur.

The arrested include 20-year-old Sandesh Nepali from Jhapa, residing in Lagankhel, 26-year-old Anish Paudel from Pokhara, residing in Kshetrapati, 41-year-old Gyan Bahadur Bishwakarma from Nuwakot, residing in the same area, and 30-year-old Rajkumar Bishwakarma from Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

Earlier, Ram Bahadur Nepali’s Mangalbazar, Lalitpur-based house had been broken into by some unidentified individuals, and stolen approximately 4.8 tola gold and other ornaments on Friday afternoon.

Following the incident, a police team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and the Crime Investigation branch based in Lalitpur apprehended Sandesh Nepali and three others on Sunday. They were taken into custody with stolen gold and cash.

Further investigation and necessary actions have been initiated, and they have been sent to the Lalitpur Police premises for additional inquiry and procedures.
