Police nab fugitive involved in human organ trafficking



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have apprehended an individual accused of being involved in the illegal trade of human organs, who had been on the run.

The arrested individual has been identified as 43-year-old Hari Darji, alias Hari Nepali, from Belkotgadhi Municipality-13 in Nuwakot, confirmed DIG Kuber Kadayat, the Nepal Police spokesperson.

According to sources, the police team from the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau nabbed him from Kathmandu today.

Reportedly, Nepali, under the guise of providing lucrative work opportunities at a Kolkata-based location in India, lured the victims from Nuwakot.

Upon reaching India, he deceitfully rendered them unconscious and harvested their organs.

The accused has been remanded for seven days on human trafficking allegations, spokesperson Kadayat informed.
