Police mobilized to prevent theft of river aggregates



KANCHANPUR: Police have been mobilized to prevent theft of river aggregates in Kanchanpur’s Doda, Banhara, Sunwora, Syali and other rivers.

As a result, 14 tractors have been detained for illegal extraction of river products so far in the year 2080-081, said Police Inspector Ishwar Thapa of the Area Police Office, Jhalari.

Along with the police, the local residents have also been vigilant to stop the theft of river products and informing police them about the illegal act.

Meanwhile, the Division Forest Office has written to the community forest users group under it jurisdiction to stop the illegal collection of river aggregates.

Since information has been received that river products are being illegally taken out from rivers within the community forest area correspondence has been made to stop such activities, said Divisional Officer of Divisional Forest Office, Kanchanpur, Bhim Prasad Kandel.
