Free blood service to Nagarjun residents



KATHMANDU: The residents of Nagarjun municipality will access blood service free of cost in need.

The Nepal Red Cross Society, Central Transfusion Service, Kalimati will freely provide the blood and blood products to the municipality residents when necessary.

A memorandum of understanding has been made between the central transfusion service and the municipality for free blood service up to mid-December 2024.

For this, the municipality and ward will also encourage and facilitate organizing blood donation events.

Municipality’s Chief Administrative Officer Suman Adhikari and Director of the Blood Transfusion Service Pawan Kumar Gupta signed the memorandum.

The MoU has been already signed with all municipalities of Bhaktapur, Kathmandu metropolis, Chandragiri municipality and Kirtipur municipality among other municipalities of Kathmandu for smooth blood service.

Efforts are being made to collaborate with remaining local government units, informed Nepal Red Cross Society Coordination Director Divya Raj Poudel.
