KATHMANDU: In a bid to alleviate financial setbacks, the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced an auction for the sale of two MA-60 and three Y-12 E aircraft.
These five aircraft have languished on the tarmac of Tribhuvan International Airport for the past three years.
Imported from China in 2071 BS, these aircraft have proven to be a financial burden for both NAC and the government, prompting the decision to sell them. With the auction, the NAC aims to mitigate losses incurred since their introduction in Nepal.
The corporation is now inviting interested companies and individuals to participate in the auction by submitting sealed tender documents. The deadline for the submission of these documents is set for February 4.
