KATHMANDU: A 20-member delegation from the Federal Parliament, led by Maoist Center chief whip Hitraj Pandey, left for Beijing on Monday afternoon via Air China for a 10-day visit to China.
The delegation comprises 5 representatives each from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, 3 from Maoist Center, and one each from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, and Unified Socialist Party.
The purpose of the visit is to participate in the program of the International Business Academy under the Ministry of Commerce of China.
The parliamentary team is also slated to explore Beijing, Nanjing, and Giang cities during their stay in China.
Lawmakers of the delegation include Yuvraj Sharma, Ramnath Adhikari, Ain Bahadur Shahi, Saraswati Bajimay, and Kusum Devi Thapa from the Nepali Congress.
From the CPN UML, Damodar Bairagi, Manbir Rai, Nirmala Koirala, Rukmini Rana Barailli, and Bhagwati Neupane are part of the team.
Representatives Jagprasad Sharma and Narayani Sharma from the Maoist Center, accompanied by Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, are also among the delegates.
Additionally, Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Anisha Nepali from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Prakash Adhikari from the Janata Samajwadi Party, and Metmani Chaudhary, chief whip of the Unified Socialist Party, are part of the delegation.
The visiting team includes Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Sudarshan Khadka, Speaker’s Press Adviser Shekhar Adhikari, and Section Officer Jiwan Niraula.
The delegation is expected to return to Kathmandu on December 30 after completing their 10-day visit.
