GANDAKI: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Bishwa Prakash Sharma, emphasized that political parties should prioritize the welfare of the country over concerns about elections.
Addressing the regional conference of the Nepali Congress regional working committee constituency 2 in Baglung, Sharma stressed the importance of advancing the nation towards prosperity.
Sharma questioned the significance of certain parties advocating a campaign labeled “Mission 84,” urging a shift in focus towards discussing the tasks to be accomplished in the upcoming years, specifically referring to the years 2080 and 2081. Drawing an analogy, he likened a diligent student who concentrates on studies without worrying about exams to the approach political parties should adopt.
Contrary to the mission-oriented approach of some parties, Sharma clarified that the NC is not fixated on a specific mission like “2084.” He asserted that the party’s primary focus is on achieving victory, emphasizing that the main issue facing the country is the path to progress and prosperity.
Highlighting the NC’s status as not only the oldest party in terms of time but also the oldest in terms of principles, Sharma expressed the party’s commitment to moving forward in collaboration with all political entities.
