KATHMANDU: The National Academy for Medical Sciences has unveiled the National Brain Tumor Center at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone in healthcare in Nepal.
Dedicated to treating cases of brain tumors and advancing research in this field, this center is the first of its kind in the country.
Chancellor of the Academy, Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Khadka, expressed the historical significance of establishing such a specialized center in Nepal. “The center will play a pivotal role in treating brain tumor cases and conducting vital research,” he stated.
Dr. Shrawab Kumar Thapa, the director at Bir Hospital, highlighted that the hospital has been running a specialized clinic for brain tumor cases. The clinic currently operates from 10 am to 1 pm on Sundays and Wednesdays.
The National Brain Tumor Center is poised to maintain comprehensive records of patients and engage in cutting-edge research initiatives.
