NEPSE index shows general improvement on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shown a general increase on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

Today, the NEPSE index has been steady at 1,988.4, an increase of 2.60 points.

The NEPSE saw a transaction of 12,095,539 shares of 292 companies today, totaling NPR 3.90 billion.

In today’s trade, the Hotel and Tourism sector sub-index decreased by 1.62, while the Life Insurance sector decreased by 1.14, the Non-Life Insurance sector by 1.31, and the Trade sector by 0.8 percent. However, all other sectors have seen an increment in their respective sub-indices.

Among these, Development Bank Group increased by 1.15, while Microfinance Group increased significantly by 0.83 percent. Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited has hit the positive circuit in today’s trading. On the downside, Kuthali Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited has witnessed a decline of 5.69 percent in its share value.

In terms of transaction amounts, Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited tops with a transaction of NPR 146.7 million today. In terms of the number of shares traded, the majority involve Arun Kabeli Power Limited with 703,092 shares bought and sold.
