Two arrested at Tribhuvan Int’l Airport with 14 kg of gold



KATHMANDU: Two individuals, identified as Chandra Ghale and Min Bahadur Ghale from Gorkha, were arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with a total of 14 kg of gold, according to the Chief of Customs Office, Tokraj Pandey.

Chandra Ghale, arriving in Kathmandu on Thursday night via Fly Dubai flight FZ 573, was taken into custody at 11:40 PM.

The gold, shaped like biscuits and totaling 14 kg, was discovered concealed on both the right and left sides of his chest and wrapped in cloth.

Upon interrogation, Ghale revealed that the gold belonged to Min Bahadur Ghale, who was subsequently arrested at the airport.

Both detainees have been transferred to Koteshwar police station for temporary custody.

Chief of Customs Pandey stated that they would be brought to the airport customs office in Gauchar for further investigation once the office opens.
